Volunteer work refugees Lesvos

Dear, family, friends and everyone else, We have made a special and important decision. A decision that feels really good, but also a decision which you actually had hoped that in today's world would no longer be needed. On April 26th , we will leave for 3 months to Lesvos to work as volunteers for the organisation Movement on the Ground to go and help refugees. The refugee crisis is not in the daily news anymore. But everyday men, women, children and families from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Eritrea and more, are still trying to cross to Europe for a life without war, threats, hunger and fear. Refugees arrive on the Greek island of Lesvos in small boats, traumatised and in bad shape. We've all seen the news and photos many times. These are terrible images and it's a confronting thought to realise the desperate situation these people are in, in search of safety, food and shelter .
